SyBIT has the task not only to support each RTD with their computing but also to facilitate that the data produced can be shared among the partners and that the necessary policies, infrastructure, support and tools are made available. This requires coordination not only within RTDs. The communities have been currently defined based on technology platforms as these were the smallest common denominator to achieve a critical size. The communities themselves can decide how to function, whether to stay as is, split in parts or discontinue completely.

The SyBIT Community meetings have been initiated by SyBIT in order to start the focussed communication on such coordination issues within, inviting resource providers and experts using various platforms and interested in working together with SyBIT. Themes to consider within a community are:

  • Share information on
    • Tools and software available and used
    • Best practices concerning operations, data management
    • Solutions to Problems
    • Open problems to which others might already have a solution
  • Standardization on
    • Interfaces
    • Data access
    • Data storage, retention and sharing policies
  • Requests to SyBIT
    • Present status on current requests
    • Define new projects to the benefit of all of the community
  • No labels
